This small square shaped garden sits in front of a modern glass extension to a Victorian terraced house.
The garden was primarily designed with this view in mind - an opportunity to watch and enjoy the changes of the seasons from close quarters, a garden which both highlights the contrast between the inside and outside but also makes the garden part of the interior
of the house.
A simple cruciform structure defines the naturalistically planted beds and gravel area, a decked strip borders the house and granite stepping stones lead to the centre. A large planted cauldron provides a focal point at the end, walls are ochre cement render topped with cedar lath screens giving a modern edge. A storage and composting area was discreetly tucked away behind more screening.
The front garden was equally considered. Generously planted beds fill the space in front of the house as a prelude to the back.
