Architect’s House

Craftworks architect’s invited us to collaborate on the creation of 3 distinct garden spaces for this extraordinary new house built in SE London.

A rich palette of bucolic materials are interwoven throughout the house and garden and dynamically link the outside with the inside.  In stark contrast to the house’s urban environment, the first garden at the front was designed to resemble a richly textured woodland floor.

Leading off from this, the second ‘garden’ is a small concealed entrance courtyard where the pots and restrained planting play with the strong textures and patterns of the walls and floors.

The third is at the rear of the house and is a vibrant mix of pattern, texture and colour – this constantly changing picture fills the main living space on the lower ground floor with light and movement.

This garden was a joint winner in the ‘Jewel Garden’ category at the prestigious Society of Garden Designers Awards 2017.
