London Garden

Mature trees and dappled light dominate this large garden adjoining parkland in north London. As a dramatic focal point to the garden a large Douglas fir timber deck was constructed around a tall Ash tree.

The deck was cantilevered from the framework to give the appearance of a floating platform, the deck boards were fixed on edge with large industrial bolts on its face. A timber-framed chair was hung from the branches of the tree for the children to play in.

Generous areas of predominately herbaceous planting surround the deck bringing dramatic seasonal changes to the garden.
